Welcome to my Instructional Design Webpage. This is my space to share my learning progress and e-portfolio.
I have learned more than I expected during my first semester of grad school for instructional design and technology. During semester one, I learned about instructional design models and frameworks, about the history of instructional design and technology, and about important terms and definitions that explain and define the industry. I enjoyed experimenting with different tools like Google Forms, Quizizz , and edPuzzle. I also learned how to edit short videos, create AI generated images, use advanced tools in Canva, as well as learn the basics of Adobe Illustrate.
One of my biggest takeaways has been the importance of collaboration and working on projects with teammates. Working with my classmates has opened my eyes to new perspectives and ideas that I never would have considered on my own.
I continued to build on my knowledge and skills during my second semester of grad school in instructional design and technology. This semester, I explored the Dick and Carey instructional design model and learned how it connects to other important frameworks such as UX and UDL principles, the SAM model, and the TPACK framework. I gained hands-on experience with a variety of digital tools, including Adobe Express, Adobe Firefly, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Kapwing, while also learning to design and manage content in the Canvas LMS. My coursework in E-Learning Technology and Media, Multimedia Production, and Technology Integration in the Classroom gave me the chance to apply theory directly to practice. One of my biggest takeaways this semester has been the value of creating a complete learning module in Adobe Captivate.
